August somehow felt like a month of little changes for me. The things I wore, the makeup I reached for, the books I read, the food I loved, and even the things I realised I don’t care about as much anymore.
So, here’s my August edit — a mix of things I genuinely enjoyed, discovered and thought about this month. Some favourites, some new finds and a few very random things that made it to the list. Basically, August, as I experienced it.
I watched ‘The Obsession’ and why I can never unsee it!

Disclaimer: This has a few spoilers.
Ever since Obsession released in theatres. I had been meaning to watch it but never got around to it. So, this month, my husband and I finally rented it on TV. It starts like a fairly ordinary story about Bear, a shy guy who likes his colleague Nikki but can’t tell her how he feels. One day, he finds a mysterious wishing root at a store and, just for fun, wishes for Nikki to love him. Which she does—but in a way he could never have imagined.
And this is where the movie starts getting really creepy. I was honestly so scared when Nikki started showing her love in ways that looked more scary than romantic. One of the most terrifying moments for me was when she stood in the corner of the room, watching Bear sleep in the middle of the night. There are many other scenes that are equally creepy and made me wonder if I will ever be able to erase those from my memory. I honestly didn’t love the way it ended, but if you want to watch something different from the usual horror movie stuff, this one is good to add in the list.
Worth watching? Yes.
Easy to watch? Absolutely not!
I read ‘The Last Mrs. Parrish’ and why I loved it!

August somehow became all about white for me. I wore white skirts, dresses, shirts—pretty much everything in my wardrobe seemed to be in some shade of white.
Not every colour or print works for me, but white brightens my complexion and makes me feel good in my clothes. I do love earthy tones, tan, orange, light blue and pink too, but white is just easier.
It has always been my favourite color because it feels elegant, classic and is one of those colours I know I’ll never get bored of. The weather probably had something to do with it too. August has been hot, humid and sticky, so loose and comfortable clothes were all I wanted. My favourite new addition was a long white skirt that I wore with a cami and a waist coat for my husband’s birthday, along with my black thong style heel and a neck piece.
Worth reading? Absolutely. Putting it down? Nearly impossible!
I wore ‘All White Clothes’ this month and why will I keep repeating them!

I ate ‘Overnight Oats & Chia Pudding’—and why I Keep Going Back for More!

If there is one thing I have eaten almost every second day, it has to be my overnight oats and chia pudding. A few months ago, I was having some gut issues and my doctor strictly asked me to add more fiber to my diet. That’s when my love affair with overnight oats began—and honestly, I haven’t looked back.
It’s so simple. I soak oats with a little muesli and chia seeds in either almond milk or Greek yogurt. The next morning, I add sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, whatever fruit I have around—blueberries, strawberries, bananas or apples—and a drizzle of honey. I usually make it after a heavy dinner the night before, or on mornings when I have to head out early. It is filling, delicious and so easy that it has become one of my favourite things to eat.
Honestly, I’m not someone who is particularly fond of sweets. My husband is but this month has been different. Along with my jars of chia pudding and overnight oats, I have eaten my fair share of cakes and tiramisus.
My favourites this month? The Chocolate Fudge Cake from Big Chill (the server knows me very well by now), the Classic Tiramisu at Mira’s, and the cupcakes from Magnolia.
Worth sharing? Only if you promise not to finish my jar!
I loved “Soft & Dewy Makeup” and why I was never a fan of heavy base makeup!

This month, I found myself leaning more towards a soft, dewy makeup look. August is hot and humid, and my skin is naturally oily, so I’ve really been loving how my skin looks with minimal makeup. Most of the products I’m using suit my skin type and help keep the excess oil under control, but still leave that little bit of dewyness.
I’ve never really understood the appeal of layers and layers of foundation that make your face look completely different from your actual skin. I prefer my skin to look like skin. Give me a little glow, a hint of blush, some mascara and a good lip colour, and I’m ready.
I’m also loving all the amazing makeup posts and reels on Instagram lately. So many quick fixes, little tricks and simple tips. None of it is particularly new, but sometimes it’s about finding the right combination that actually works for you—and this season, I think I’ve finally found mine.
More makeup? Not for me. Just enough to look like myself!
